Air controller, Coast Guard captain give differing accounts of Haneda crash

NHK has learned of discrepancies between the accounts given by an air traffic controller and the captain of a Japan Coast Guard plane in relation to Tuesday’s collision at Tokyo’s Haneda Airport.

On the same day the National Transportation Safety Board revealed their preliminary report on an oversight that caused a panel to fly off of an Alaska Airlines flight, the U.S.’s top aviation regulator said changes must be made in how the government oversees Boeing.
